Salt Therapy
/Halotherapy for Deeper Breath and Healthier Skin
What Is Salt Therapy?
Halotherapy (or Dry Salt Therapy) is a natural treatment to detoxify the respiratory system, heal skin conditions, promote better breathing, and support overall wellness. The Salt Booth uses pharmaceutical-grade Himalayan salt that is heated, ground, and crushed into very tiny micro-particles. When inhaled, these particles penetrate deep into the lungs and bronchi, supporting overall respiration as well as oxygen intake. The non-inhaled salt particles fall onto the skin, supporting conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne.
Salt Therapy Benefits
Lung Support and Deeper Breath
Inhaled dry salt particles may help to reduce inflammation in the entire respiratory tract and widen the airway passages. A clean respiratory system naturally results in higher oxygen intake, increased energy, and an improved immune system. Salt Therapy helps to relieve asthma, chronic bronchitis, COPD, sinus problems, allergies, and other respiratory challenges.
Healthier Skin
Studies have demonstrated benefits for conditions including psoriasis, eczema, acne, hives, and skin inflammation. Salt Therapy has anti-aging benefits as well.
Detoxification
Clinical trials have provided evidence that regular Salt Therapy sessions have a detoxification effect on our bodies, resulting in improvements in various respiratory conditions, boosts to our immune systems, and the promotion of longevity, healing, and well-being.
Balance Stress and Holistic Wellness
The negative ions produced during a Salt Therapy session help to balance the effect of stress on your body, increase energy, improve sleep, support mental alertness, relieve lethargy, ease headaches, and provide help with depression.
Immune System Support
Salt Therapy is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal and helps with chronic immune system challenges. The dry salt particles dislodge and dissolve bacteria and pollutants in the respiratory tract. These are then either coughed up or naturally expelled by the body.
Thyroid Support
Himalayan salt contains natural iodine. There are indications that it helps those with low thyroid levels (hypothyroidism).

What to Bring to Your Salt Therapy Session & FAQ's
Cell phones, electronics, and jewelry should not be brought into the Salt Booth because the microparticles of salt can be corrosive.
Some clients like to wear a bathing suit while others prefer being fully dressed.
If you are seeking skin support, we recommend having as much skin exposed as feels comfortable.
We offer the option of wearing your clothes or changing into one of our robes.
When your session is over, you may notice a faint trace of salt on your lips and the slight taste of salt on your tongue. Any salt that collects on your clothing can be easily brushed off.
Q: Are there any side effects of Salt Therapy?
A: There are no potentially harmful side effects of Salt Therapy. The treatment is completely natural. A slight cough or a runny nose is possible, but this is simply the salt working to remove mucus and toxins from the lungs and airways.
Q: How many sessions do I need:
A: Based on your condition and symptoms, this can vary. For best results, the Salt Therapy Association recommends a series of treatments. Some individuals prefer to use Salt Therapy as a continuous preventive measure. We have found beneficial effects are cumulative so regular sessions a couple times per week is ideal.
